Costa Blanca

The Costa Blanca is an area of Spanish coastline which stretches from Denia in the North to Torrevieja in the South, and is a wonderful place to search for property for sale.  Famed for the beauty of its spectacular mountain ranges and beautiful palm tree lined beaches, the Costa Blanca is gifted with three hundred and twenty days of sunshine each year, with very low humidity.  Its sleepy inland Spanish villages contrast with the stunning nightlife of Benidorm, and the relaxed cosmopolitan atmosphere of Alicante; there's truly something for everyone who wishes to invest in property on the Costa Blanca.

The Costa Blanca is renowned for its friendly atmosphere, and helpful populace.  As a major tourist area, English speakers are not unusual, and you will be able to get by with minimal knowledge of Spanish.

In small villages like Calpe, the afternoon siesta is still alive and well, and many families rest in the afternoon before dining together in one of the many restaurants available in the evening.  The convivial atmosphere is one of the many reasons that British people choose to invest in a retirement home in the Costa Blanca.

The area is served by two major airports, Alicante and San Javier (Murcia), and has efficient transport links in the form of buses and trains.  Owning property in the Costa Blanca will give you easy access to the vivid nightlife of Benidorm, and those looking for a more peaceful yet still exciting evening can find it in Alicante.  Lazy days resting on sun kissed beaches under palm trees or playing golf on any of the area's beautiful golf courses makes the Costa Blanca the perfect place to invest in property for your retirement, or in order to rent to holiday makers, of which there is never a shortage.

Housing prices in the Costa Blanca can vary between areas, but are generally low compared to other parts of Spain.   The Costa Blanca south is relatively cheaper than the North, with beachfront properties available for as little as £100,000, while inland real estate in need of renovation can be found for as little as £20,000 if you shop around a little.  As the property market in Costa Blanca North is far more established, prices are much higher.  It's also less likely that you'll find an off plan property for sale, as there is less undeveloped land, although there are off plan developments in Alicante, with apartments for less than £100,000.  The property available is extremely varied, and includes apartments, townhouses, villas and rural homes, and the hilly terrain allows many properties a sea view.  The prices also vary, from around £150,000 for a two bedroom apartment in central Calpe, to £300,000 or more for a two bedroom villa in Benidorm.
